The Upside-Down Kingdom

“Fair or Full?”

In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells the parable of the laborers in the vineyard — a story that unsettles our sense of fairness and reveals the generosity of God. The workers hired at the end of the day receive the same wage as those who labored from morning, not because they earned it, but because the master delights in giving freely. In the Upside‑Down Kingdom, grace doesn’t follow our scorekeeping. It exposes envy, dismantles entitlement, and invites us to rejoice in the fullness of a God who gives far more than we deserve.
